Worship Pastor

Lee Sutherland

Lee serves as Worship Pastor for LifePointe Church, singing and playing Lead /Rhythm Electric guitar. He has a heart and passion for serving Christ and helping to lead the lost and broken to His kingdom. Lee has been serving in the Student Ministry for over 5 yrs. and in the Worship Ministry for over 12 yrs. Lee, his wife Anna Marie, and daughter Angel are originally from Chicago, Illinois and are currently living here in Sedalia. Lee has had the opportunity to serve in a few different student ministries including Junior High, High School and College aged ministry. He has also organized and helped lead Student worship teams, and has attended various Student ministry and Youth workers conferences.

Teaching Pastor

Steve Venable

Steve is a native of Sedalia, Missouri, born in April 1959. After graduating from State Fair Community College in 1979, he joined the United States Marine Corps. After receiving an honorable discharge in 1991, he stayed in the area of Savannah, Georgia, where he met his wife, Brandy. In 2006, they both entered the ministry by taking residential positions at Lives Under Construction Boys Ranch in Lampe, Missouri. He served as Staff In Charge and his wife was the Food Service Coordinator for the Ranch. In 2008, he returned to the Sedalia area where he has been actively involved in the Pulpit Supply Ministry.

Executive Pastor / Senior Adults Pastor

Steve Thomas

Steven Thomas entered the ministry in May of 1969. He is a graduate of Wayland Baptist University with a B.S. in Religion and attended Luther Rice Seminary. He has been the pastor of small to large churches and has always had a passion for senior adults. Steve is currently employed by the Missouri Dept. of Corrections using every opportunity to share his faith. Steve, and his wife, Cheryl, live in Jefferson City, Missouri with their two youngest sons and enjoy family time and serving Christ.

Lead Pastor

Rusty Thomas

Rusty has served more than 15 years as a student pastor, lead pastor, and church planter. Rusty, his wife, Angie, and their three children, Megan, Zachary, and Kyle currently live in Sedalia. Angie is a Registered Nurse working for a local hospital as well as a terrific mother and wife. Rusty is a graduate student, pursuing his Master's degree at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX. He has an evangelistic heart with a passion for leading the lost to a forgiving Savior! Personal integrity, evangelism, and ministry will be the battle cry of LifePointe as he preaches the undiluted word of God with power and conviction. His desire is to creatively teach God’s truths using a variety of methods including comedy and illusion, and to lead people on the journey to becoming Great- Commissioned Christians.
